Community Meetings, Coffee with a Cop, & DEA Drug Takeback
The Office of Community Outreach, prioritizing the
health and safety of the community, and the officers
of the Cranston Police Department supported the
continued restrictions on public gatherings and
meetings. To ensure compliance and reduce the
potential for conflicting messaging between COVID
restrictions and the goals of Community Outreach.
Community meetings were suspended for 2021. We
were able to host the DEA Drug Takeback collection
point to help people rid their medicine cabinets of
expired or unneeded medications that could pose a danger for abuse. We were also
able to participate in Coffee with a Cop, hosted by Starbucks at Chapel View.
Trunk or Treat, Shop with a Cop, National Night Out & Touch a Truck
The Department
participated in
Trunk or Treat
events at Orchard
Farms and
Gladstone
Elementary
Schools. This
provided an opportunity for the department to engage the youth and families of our
community in a safe, outdoor setting. We also continued our partnership with the
