Additionally, three detectives remain sworn members of the FBI, HSI, and SOLEMN
federal task forces. The SVU detectives investigated twenty-seven incidents of criminal
sexual contact in 2021. This represents a slight downward trend in the overall
number of reported incidents of sexual crime.
The unit was also responsible for following up on initial reports taken by the Uniform
Division dealing with sexually based offenses and vandalism, family offenses, and
runaways.
