The Patrol Division, also known as the Uniform Division, is the most visible presence to the citizens of Cranston. Currently, the division is composed of 86 patrol officers and supervisors, 4 traffic officers, 4 school resource officers, 13 dispatchers, 1 K-9, and 4 animal control officers. During 2014, these officers responded to 64,002 calls for service (averaging approximately 5,333 per month) including 2,639 arrests.

There are three distinct shifts with two overlapping schedules for proper coverage of the city. Each of these shifts has a lieutenant in charge. They are Lt. Sean Parker (First Shift), Lt. Stephen Brooks (Second Shift) and Lt. Michael Pezzullo (Third Shift). Overall, the Patrol Division has two captains overseeing daily operations.
