The Cranston Animal Shelter, which houses stray dogs, stray cats and homeless pets, is located at 920 Phenix Avenue. Currently, it consists of a kennel area with 40 dog runs and a puppy/cat room with 36 various size cages that can accommodate up to 75 puppies, kittens, and cats. The PawPrint Press was created by two local kids whose experience with the shelter inspired them to become adoption advocates for the animals housed there. It was first published in 2010 and locally distributed in their Eden Park neighborhood. It is their hope that every animal in the shelter will be adopted into a forever home.
